I recently watched an episode of Oprah where she and Bono went on a little shopping spree and purchased a whole bunch of (RED) products. The (RED) and ONE campaigns are part of this whole plan to help Africa get out of proverty and help women and children in Africa to get meds for Aids. I don't often participate in charities or whatever but I think they have a good idea here that they are running with. (RED) products is terrific in theory, companies such as Converse, Motorolla, Armani, and Gap are making red products and taking a portion of those profits and donating them for the fight against Aids in Africa. This is great but I was shocked to find out how little they actually donate. I'll have to look it up to get an exact number but off of a 50 dollar shirt at the gap, if I remember correctly, 17 of that goes to the cause. It takes 1.00 per day for the medications these women and children need. I figured I really wanted to do something meaningful for causes I believe in and even if this is just another web site in the black hole of web sites we call the internet, I hope that maybe even just one person looking at this will take a look and either purchase a (RED) product or even just sign the ONE declaration...
